Unfortunately, the world’s largest public fair for tourism and leisure in January 2021 cannot take place. According to the organisers, there was an approved safety and hygiene concept for the CMT, but exhibitors need more planning security.

“We need planning security for our exhibitors and partners,” says Guido von Vacano, member of the management board. “With every day that a trade fair approaches, costs arise for all parties involved. The worst case scenario to assume is a cancellation shortly before the start of a fair. The risk that such a scenario could occur for CMT in January 2021 had unfortunately increased considerably with recent developments”. Source: Press release

Alternative CMT concepts for a date in late spring or summer are already being planned.

The TC (Tourism & Caravanning) in Leipzig was cancelled without an alternative date. The largest travel fair in Central Germany should have taken place from 18 – 22.11.2020. The corona pandemic also prevents planning security here and makes it impossible to hold it.

“Although trade fairs have once again been successfully held at various locations and can also be safely implemented in Leipzig thanks to an appropriate hygiene concept, the extremely dynamic development of the corona pandemic makes reliable planning of tourism & caravanning impossible for us, our partners and our exhibitors,” says Guido von Vacano, member of the management of Messe Stuttgart.
